The municipality of Santa Eulària des Riu is located in the easternmost part of the island of Eivissa. The 11 kilometers of the only existing river in Illes Balears, Riu de Santa Euràlia, runs through its territory. This river that during the dry season totally loses its flow, marked the development of this territory until the 18th century, since its water moved the flour mills located at the foot of Puig de Missa (52 meters of altitude) and irrigated the crops of Santa Eulària. Currently, tourism leads the municipal economic indicators, concentrating a large part of Eivissa's tourism offer.
